Behind The DL
Four decades of making records
The DL is producer and songwriter Daryl Lopes. His musical ear was shaped by 1970s soul, 1980s pop and MTV, 1990s R&B and New Jack Swing, hip-hop, funk, and dance music. After four decades of writing, arranging, producing, and developing songs, he still begins with the same question: does the music make you feel something?
That experience now serves artists and storytellers who want music that feels human, memorable, and made for their project rather than pulled from a template.
